Privacy Policy
The Los Ositos app (iPhone and iPad) · El Mundo de los Ositos, by Cory Kelly · Last updated October 13, 2026
The short version: the Los Ositos app does not collect any personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party software development kits. It was built for young children, and we designed it so that nothing about your child ever leaves your device.
What the app stores, and where
The app remembers your child's progress (which bears they have played with, which Spanish words they know, game levels and settings such as sound and English support). This is saved only on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can erase it at any time in the app's parent area (hold the gear icon, solve the grown-up check, then choose Reset progress), or by deleting the app.
Internet use
The app works offline. When the device is online, it may download:
- short animated bear videos that play as rewards, and
- new bears and seasonal content we publish,
from our own content server (Amazon S3). These are ordinary file downloads. The app sends no account, name, device identifier, location or usage information with them. As with any download, the hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability; we do not use them to identify or track anyone.
Purchases
The optional one-time "Todo el Mundo" unlock is sold and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive payment details. Purchases are only offered in the parent area, behind a grown-up check.
Links outside the app
Links to our website (for example, to our books and videos) are only in the parent area, behind a grown-up check, and open in a separate browser view.
Children's privacy
The app is made for children ages 5 and under and is intended for use with a parent or caregiver. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, in line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's App Store Kids Category requirements.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect in the app.
